On September 8, Whole Foods Market announced the implementation of its new responsible packaging guidelines for all of the company’s over 2100 body care products. Along with these guidelines, Whole Foods Market has switched to post-consumer recycled (PCR) content bottles for many of its store-brand supplements and body care products. New body care and supplement suppliers have to meet the Whole Foods Market packaging regulations before any of their products can be sold in one of the company's over 300 locations throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Current suppliers will have one year to transition to this new eco-friendly packaging. All of Whole Foods Market house-brand body products will be packaged in 100 % PCR plastic by late 2010. These new PCR plastic bottles will be marked with a leaf.
