Celebrities, Faith Leaders and Survivors Urge U.S. Action to End Global Epidemic of Violence Against Women

A coalition of human rights advocates, one celebrity, faith leaders and female survivors of violent abuse, held a rally to urge Congress to pass the International Violence Against Women Act before the November elections. At the Sept. 16-rally outside of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., speakers pointed to recent high-profile cases of violence against women as examples of why congress must to take quick actions to protect women worldwide against violence.
